Title: Reading Room Welcome Designer: Daniel Gorman Manufacturer: Dimensions Year: 1992 Size: 5" x 7" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Three-Quarter Cross Stitch, Back Stitch, Satin Stitch, Lazy Daisy, French Knot Finished: May 2005 Hangs: In our bathroom Back Story: This one took me about a month. I hadn't had any experience with Lazy Daisies, or French Knots, and little experience with Satin Stitching. It came out really well, all things considered!

Title: Cook's Buns Designer: ? Manufacturer: Golden Bee Stitchery, Inc. Year: 1983 Size: 8" x 10" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Back Stitch, French Knot Finished: 2005 Hangs: In our kitchen Back Story: If you don't like French Knots, don't do this one! Turned out perfectly, though.

Title: Friendship Designer: Two Needles LLC Manufacturer: Bucilla Year: 2001 Size: Approximately 5" x 7" not including hoop Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Back Stitch Finished: 2005 Hangs: On our refrigerator Back Story: I stayed up all night finishing this one. I wanted to look at that cute bluebird when I got up in the morning. Isn't he cute?! Of all Bucilla's "pocket" kits, I think this one's cutest.

Title: Love Makes Home Designer: ? Manufacturer: WonderArt Year: ? Size: 11" x 14" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Outline Stitch, Lazy Daisy, French Knot Finished: 2005 Hangs: On our front door Back Story: This one was interesting because it isn't my usual style. It only has five colors in it, and it has huge lazy daisies, which was not easy to get just right. All in all, it came out evenly and I'm happy with it.

Book/Leaflet: 340 More Mini Messages (Book Two) Year: 1993 Size: 2" x 2" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Back Stitch Finished: 2005 Hangs: On our refrigerator Back Story: When I got this book I had the brilliant idea of making these "mini messages" into refrigerator magnets. They make great gifts!

Book/Leaflet: 340 More Mini Messages (Book Two) Year: 1993 Size: 2" x 2" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Back Stitch, French Knot Finished: 2005 Hangs: On our refrigerator Back Story: Another refrigerator magnet. I love this saying...

Title: Happiness Is Catching Designer: ? Manufacturer: Bucilla Year: ? (Vintage) Size: 16" x 20" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Back Stitch, Outline Stitch, Satin Stitch, Straight Stitch, Lazy Daisy, French Knot Finished: Early 2006 Hangs: In our living room Back Story: This was my first experience with linen (this was stitched on 100% Belgian linen). Because this was a vintage kit, the stamped design was very faded in some parts, so that was kinda scary. I also changed the colors, making them a bit more vibrant. I managed to do a much better job on the outline stitch than I did on the "Love Makes Home" sampler, though both turned out very well.

(Vintage) Size: 2" x 2" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Back Stitch Finished: 2006 Hangs: On our bedroom door Back Story: This was one of the first couple counted cross stitch projects I attempted, so I made sure I chose a small one! Again, it doesn't have a lot of colors, but I love the pastel pink and green together.

Title: Wipe Your Paws Designer: Linda Gillum Manufacturer: American School of Needlework Book/Leaflet: Cat Purr-sonalities Year: 1992 Size: 12" x 18" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Back Stitch Finished: 2006 Hangs: In our bathroom Back Story: This was my first experience sewing on a towel, which was a lot of fun.

Title: Welcome To My Nest Designer: Pat Maloney Bord Manufacturer: The New Berlin Co. Year: 1993 Size: 4" x 4" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Three-Quarter Cross Stitch, Back Stitch, French Knot Finished: 2006 Hangs: On our bedroom door Back Story: I had a lot of trouble with the back stitching while doing this one, for some reason. There were a lot of zig-zags and things like that. It was also my first "pillow" kit, but I think it came out very well. I also changed the "my" to "our" so it could hang on our bedroom door.

Title: Rise 'n Shine Designer: Linda Conners Manufacturer: Calico Crossroads Year: 2001 Size: 7 1/2" x 5 5/8" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Back Stitch, Three-Quarter Stitch Finished: 2006 Hangs: By my fiancé's closet Back Story: This is the first of the Kats by Kelly designs that I stitched. It took about a week; back-stitching takes longer than it looks! But I counted everything right and all the stitches are in their proper place, so I'm happy! I hung it by my fiancé's closet so that he can see it every morning when he gets dressed. With nine kitties, this design is very relevant to us! I also changed the sleeping person's hair from yellow to brown to match our hair colors. It turned out really well.

Title: Bun Warmer Designer: Linda Conners Manufacturer: Calico Crossroads Year: 2002 Size: 7 1/2" x 5 5/8" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Back Stitch, Three-Quarter Stitch Finished: 2006 Hangs: By our stove in our kitchen Back Story: I had so much fun with the first Kats by Kelly design that I did another one, again with our cats in mind, who like to pitter-patter all over the stove. This one came out well even though I encountered a few problems along the way. This looks like one very cozy kitty!

Title: Mary's Kitchen Designer: Sally Townsend Manufacturer: The New Berlin Co. Year: 1992 Size: 4" x 4" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Three-Quarter Cross Stitch, Back Stitch, French Knot Finished: 2006 Hangs: On our refrigerator Back Story: Of course I personalized this one, changing "Mary" to "Leslie." I figure 'Why look for a magnet with my name on it when I can make my own cross stitch sign for the fridge?' This was supposed to be a musical piece, but the chip no longer worked by the time I bought it.

Title: Housewife Designer: Darla Fanton Manufacturer: The New Berlin Co. Year: 1988 Size: 2" x 4" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Back Stitch Finished: 2006 Hangs: On our refrigerator Back Story: I'm not a housewife yet, but this saying still seemed quite appropriate.

Size: 5" x 7" Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Three-Quarter Stitch, Back Stitch Finished: August 6, 2006 Hangs: In our hallway Back Story: When I washed this, the red thread color ran! I managed to rinse some of it out and cover up the rest with white chalk. It's not too bad now. I love this saying!
